Electrix of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada has a whole line of live performance styled signal processing units. This is a class of processors designed with larger controls to be "played" live by DJ/musician/remixers.
First is the Mo-FX Time Synchronized FX, a multi-effect's processor with four modules. You can switch on or momentarily "play" distortion, flange, auto-pan/tremolo or delay processes. Then there's WarpFactory, a way to superimpose the formant (that's the shape of a sound) of one sound, like your voice or any other source, on another sound source from your sampler, turntable, drum machine or synth to produce a whole new range of sounds with a vowel-like, humanity. Lastly, FilterFactory is an analog high order filter bank that has direct control over frequency, resonance, LFO rate and depth and tap tempo for "on the fly" totally live filter twisting.
