Maxon Nine Series effect pedals have been favorites since their introduction in the 1980s. All are totally analog and have true bypass footswitches. The three most popular are: the OD-9 Overdrive, SD-9 Sonic Distortion and the AF-9 Auto Filter. The OD-9 with the JRC4558 chip has a smooth overdrive controlled by two knobs: Overdrive and Output. The SD-9 uses both discrete transistors and an opamp chip for massive low-end boost and up to 55dB of gain. AF-9 uses an opto-coupler to produce dynamic and extremely "watery" filter shapes. There are low pass, bandpass and high pass filter types and 100Hz to 4kHz frequency range.
