GHOST Guitar and Bass Pickup System from Graph Tech

D Gear Lust Web Site DGo To The Music Connection "New Toys" Directory

GHOST Guitar and Bass Pickup System from Graph Tech GHOST is a new guitar pickup system built into normal-looking guitar saddles. These piezoelectric saddle pickups (a single one is pictured lower right) are said to provide a studio quality acoustic sound from any electric guitar. You'll get good sound without feedback or mic placement problems associated with acoustic guitars. Each set of six comes calibrated for proper string-to-string balance and the optional Quickswitch will let you switch between your existing pickups over to the GHOST System. The piezo signals are processed through the Acousti-Phonic guitar pre-amp or the Bass pre-amp for direct amplification or recording. (The electronic circuit boards in the picture) You can mix between your existing electric pickups with the onboard mixer and save from draining your batteries with the auto-off sensor.

Users can add the Hexpander pre-amp, that simply snaps onto the Acousti-Phonic pre-amp, giving the guitar player access to full MIDI and the virtual processor by way of a 13-pin connector. The GHOST modular pick-up system features a proprietary harmonic dampening circuit claimed to be the fastest string tracking system ever.

Probably the best thing about GHOST is that nothing changes in the way you play including string pressure, vibrato or note bending. Graph Tech's patented String-SaverT saddles provide better tone, improved string life and increased sustain. GHOST fits most Strat and Tele guitars as well as Wilkinson, Tune-O-Matic, PRS and P/J-bass bridges.

GHOST Guitar & Bass Pickup Systems with String-SaverT and Saddles & Acousti-Phonic Pre-amp start at $109.95 MSRP while the Acoustic-Phonic Pre-amp is $89.95 MSRP and the Hexpander is $249.95.
