Play With The CD Series from Hal Leonard The Play With The CD series from Hal Leonard uses an included music CD of the original master recordings of hit songs from the original record labels along with a book of specially arranged piano accompaniments. You can follow along and play with the record--as if you were in the band!--using this unique and fun teaching method. I received three book/CDs called Play With The CD Piano Vol. 3 The 1950s; Play With The CD Piano Vol. 4 The 1960s; and Play With The CD Piano Vol. 5 The 1970s. Each of these books has ten popular hit songs from those decades.

The 1950s has hits like Bill Haley & His Comets "Rock Around The Clock", The Crickets' "That'll Be The Day", Lloyd Price's "Personality" and more. The 1960s collection includes the Mamas & Papas' "Monday, Monday", Marvin Gaye sings "How Sweet It Is", and The Supremes have "Baby Love." The 1970's book has Elton John singing "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", Rod Stewart's "Maggie May", and the Commodores' "Three Times A Lady." These three are only the beginning of this series with more titles being released all the time. There are also: Christmas Hits for Piano Vol. 1; Christmas Favorites for Piano Vol. 2; Christmas Hits for Guitar Vol. 1; Christmas Favorites for Guitar Vol. 2; and the same Play With The CD 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s trio for guitar players.

Each book/CD sells for $19.95 and represent a fun break from ordinary music lessons any one at any skill level will love. Hal Leonard publications are available through Music Dispatch at www.musicdispatch.com or at: 800-637-2852).
