The new "At A Glance" series are "watch and learn" lesson books that use included DVD videos to actually show you what the lesson examples should look and sound like. I received the first five books: DVD Beginning Guitar; DVD Guitar Shred; DVD Acoustic Guitar; DVD Scales and Modes (pictured) and DVD Guitar Chords. Many more At a Glance packs such as Blues Guitar, Country Guitar, Lead Guitar will be published soon. Taught by pro players, these lessons cover all the basics and some more advanced parts by referencing them to popular songs that utilize the same methods.
DVD Scales and Modes covers major, minor, and minor pentatonic scales, plus modes. Song examples are: Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", Hendrix's version of "Hey Joe" and 29 others. DVD Guitar Chords covers open, power and barre chords plus an intro to seventh chords. Song examples here are: the Who's "Can't Explain", Oasis' "Wonderwall" and 20 more.
