A big crowd pleaser at the 2009 Winter NAMM Show, the aluminum archtop bass from Normandy Guitars of Salem, Oregon sounds as killer as it looks. The Normandy Archtop Bass has a hand-welded and riveted aircraft-grade aluminum body with an aluminum nut that increases sustain qualities. It goes without saying the Normandy bass is indestructible!
The maple neck and rosewood fingerboard feels great surrounded by the aluminum body. The Normandy bass uses two Nordstrand humbuckers each with separate volume controls and a master tone knob. The Gotoh heavy-duty tuners keep the D'Addario XL165 strings on this bad boy in tune.
Finishes and colors include all chrome and the powder coat finishes come in School Bus, Army and Rat Rod colors. Midnight Blue, Gold and Obsidian (black) are the available anodized finishes. Options include a left-handed model and a custom hardshell case is included.
The Normandy Archtop Bass guitar ranges in price from $1,899 to $2,229 depending on the finish. Check out: www.normandyguitars.com for more about this bass as well as Normandy's aluminum guitars.
