Installing HHC is fast. After unzipping the two 1GB files, I just copied them over to my Reason 5 library samples folder and I was ready to start loading sounds. There were no authorizing "hoops" to jump through.
Besides the generous number of diverse patches available, I was most impressed by the quality and production values built into the sounds in this library. There are customized Combinator patches that open and load multiple layered instruments, effects and tonal combinations with just one click. All the patches are named descriptively after their musical style--titles like Dirty Banger Kit or East Coast Snap Kit. All patches and banks load quickly and I liked that there is plenty of room to dial them in to fit your music because both the dry and processed versions are available simply by turning the FX button on/off.
Hip Hop Composer includes 34 different drum kits with discrete samples plus: 437 Combinator combos, 154 NN-XT sounds, 105 Thor Polysonic patches, 45 Kong Kits, 70 Redrum Kits, 85 SubTractor sounds, and 98 Malström sounds.
