The XL-1 features 32MB of internal sounds such as leads, pads, analog synths, deep basses, drum kits, hits and the signature E-MU Wall and Edge sounds. There are 12th order filters, user programmable arpeggiators, and a new "Super Beats" mode that provides dynamic control over 16 independent rhythm tracks.
