A computer, an Internet connection and the Movo WebMicHD PRO is all you need to do professional-looking videos, webinar podcasts or Zoom calls. The Movo works standalone on its own handheld/tabletop desk stand or use the included a C-clamp to clip it to your computer monitor's screen or the edge of your desk. Either way you'll have a cardioid condenser microphone aimed at you that rejects sound and noise coming in from behind mic--computer and outside street noise. Internal microphones in laptops pickup everything!
The Movo WebMicHD PRO has an HD 1080p camera that captures video at 30 frames/sec; the crisp, clear image was the first thing I jumped up and down over when I first plugged it in. I also like the integrated LED ring light around the camera with its three brightness levels (and off). The ring is not annoyingly big, as other rings and I had no trouble using the camera with or without it at any time of day--the camera pickups everything! Biggest plus: you don't have to buy and set up a ring separately.
The computer setup is automatic with the "WebMic HD Pro" showing up in the Mac's Sound app. It comes with its own USB-C to USB-A cable that plugs in the back of the spherically shaped WebMic to connect to my computer. Also on the mic's back is the ring light on/off/brightness switch and the two controls for the microphone gain, and the volume of the 1/8-inch stereo headphone jack. They will not get bumped easily!
I'm having a great time with the Movo WebMicHD PRO! It seems well made and works great. My only wish is that it had a speaker inside I could use for Zoom calls in addition to the headphone jack. It's a solid product and a worthwhile addition to any computer rig--especially laptops that usually sound bad and produce a bad visual selfie angle using the internal mic and camera. This is way better!
